Which Film Should You Choose?
Choosing between Oracal 651 and 751 depends on three main things: the surface of your vehicle, the climate where you drive, and how long you want the lettering to last.
Go with 651 if: your vehicle has flat surfaces, you're in the Midwest or Northeast, you plan to change the application or sell the vehicle within five years, or you need a specific color that’s only in the 651 line.
Pick 751 if: your vehicle has complex curves, it’s parked in direct sunlight in the South or Southwest, you want the lettering to stick for seven years or more, or you’re lettering a fleet where you want to avoid costly replacements.
At Commercial Fleet Decal, we typically use Oracal 651 for most vehicle lettering orders. We suggest switching to 751 (or to Oracal 951 cast vinyl for tougher jobs) if your needs require it.
